HOW IT HAPPENED
With 11 days between games for Lipscomb and close to a week for Tennessee Tech, the scoring started out slow. However, Hope Counts broke the ice with a three-point play with 8:26 left in the opening quarter.

However, TTU used a three-pointer by Lyriq Mastin to lead 9-7 at the media break. From there, the Golden Eagles used an 8-0 run to lead 17-9 en route to a 17-11 lead after one period.

In the second, Tech swelled the lead to 10 early in the second period. Lipscomb, who was held without a field goal for the first five minutes of the period, finally broke the spell with an Elena Bertrand layup off a turnover.

Molly Heard got the Bisons back in it late in the quarter with back-to-back 3-pointers to cut what was an 11-point deficit to five with 2:47 left, but it was the Golden Eagles who took the 33-25 advantage into the locker room.

In the third quarter, after Tech coughed up the ball on its first possession thanks to a Bertrand steal, Miller knocked down a triple to make it a five-point game again. However, a 9-0 run by the Golden Eagles shifted the momentum back to the home bench.

Ahead 55-42 going into the final period, TTU used an 8-2 run to open the frame to put the game away.
