WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – In the first-ever meeting between the two schools, the Lipscomb University Women's Basketball team was defeated by Purdue University in a Thursday matinee, 88-45, from Mackey Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The teams traded field goals early in the contest. After Tara Daye started the scoring for the Boilermakers, the Bisons saw back-to-back field goals from
Elena Bertrand and
Molly Heard to take a 4-2.
McKayla Miller later evened the score at six points apiece with her jumper with 5:49 left in the quarter, but that would be the final points Lipscomb would score, as Purdue ended the quarter on a 14-0 run to lead 20-6.
The drought stretched into the second quarter, but
Molly Heard was able to find the hoop with 7:51 left in the period to end an 0-for-10 stretch.
The Boilermakers forced 15 Bisons turnovers in the first half, scoring 22 points on the other end, as they carried a 52-17 lead into the locker room.
Despite being outscored 36-28 in the second half, the Bisons got off the schneid from the 3-point line. After missing their first 10, they posted a 7-of-16 mark from beyond the arc, including two each from Miller,
Olivia Vinson and
Taylor Holt.

McKayla Miller led the Bisons with 12 points and three assists, while
Olivia Vinson added six points and rebounds each.
