NASHVILLE -- Lipscomb Men's Basketball's Mateo Esmeraldo was named the ASUN Newcomer of the Week the league announced Monday. The honor marks the second consecutive week that Esmeraldo has earned the honor. 

Esmeraldo averaged a double double with 14.5 points per game and 10.0 assists per game against No. 3 Duke and Blue Mountain College. The junior scored 14 points at No. 3 Duke and added eight assists against the Blue Devils. He added a career-high 12 assists against Blue Mountain College. He shot 44.4% from the field and 55.6% from three-point range over the week and also averaged three rebounds per game. The guard also added two steals at No. 3 Duke. 

The Bisons will be back in action Monday, Dec. 29 at Cincinnati.
