NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb Track & Field opened the 2025 indoor season just down the road at the Vanderbilt Commodore Winter Challenge, turning in several top-10 finishes, strong freshman debuts, and early-season momentum inside the Vanderbilt Multipurpose Facility.
The Bisons showed well across sprints, hurdles, mid-distance, and field events, highlighted by two freshmen making the Men's 60m Hurdles final and a pair of podium finishes.
In the men's hurdles, freshman Keshawn Allen headlined the day with a standout debut, running 8.17 in the prelims before placing third overall in the final with an impressive 8.03. Fellow freshman Harper Williams also advanced, finishing sixth overall in 8.26, while Ty Balzarini added a strong preliminary performance.
Lipscomb excelled in the mid-distance events as well. Gavin Bacus grabbed a third-place finish in the Men's 1000m with a time of 2:28.27, while Bethany Wright placed sixth in the Women's 1000m at 3:02.40. Freshman Savannah Nuetzel opened her collegiate career with an eighth-place finish in the Women's 600m, running 1:34.18.
In the sprints, Aden Bryan placed sixth overall in the Men's 60m final, clocking 6.92. In the field events, Justin Davis turned in a strong showing in the Men's Triple Jump, placing fifth with a mark of 14.73m, while Nate Hayes led the throws group with a ninth-place finish in the Men's Weight Throw (12.14m).
Both 4x400m relays placed inside the top ten, with the women finishing eighth in 3:58.70, while the men's A and B squads placed seventh and eighth, respectively.
