RALEIGH, N.C. – Lipscomb Track & Field competed outdoor at the NC State Raleigh Relays from March 26–28, turning in a strong weekend highlighted by a program record, personal bests, and top-five finishes against one of the nation's premier distance fields.
The Bisons competed against elite national competition and continued to build momentum early in the outdoor season with standout performances across distance, sprints, and field events.
Thursday's action was led by Max Hooper, who delivered a historic performance in the men's 1500m. The sophomore placed fifth overall with a time of 3:40.06, setting a new Lipscomb program record and personal best against a highly competitive field. William Goodrich followed with a personal best of 3:44.63 in the same event.
In the distance events, Will Jefferson ran a strong 14:06.48 in the men's 5000m, while Joe Ponter followed with a 14:22.49 performance. Bing Hudson represented the Bisons in the men's 3000m steeplechase, finishing in 9:28.49.
Friday featured continued success on the track, highlighted by Mia Bergman's fifth-place finish in the women's 10,000m with a time of 33:47.25. In the sprints, Joel Nimoh led the men with a 10.79 performance in the 100m, while Savannah Nuetzel clocked 56.59 in the women's 400m.
The women's distance group also posted solid marks, led by Linda Perez in the 1500m (4:24.65) and Liza Corso in the 5000m (16:28.08), while Aly Negovetich and Carmen Krawczynski-Gonzalez added depth in the event.
Saturday closed out the meet with strong performances across multiple events. In the middle-distance races, Max Hooper returned to run 1:50.64 in the 800m, while William Goodrich followed with a 1:51.65 performance. On the women's side, Linda Perez (2:12.47) and Abigail Alvarado (2:12.79) led the 800m group.
In the sprints, Joel Nimoh posted a 21.93 mark in the 200m, while KeShawn Allen followed in 23.04. Hannah Wright added a 1:03.73 performance in the women's 400m hurdles, while Savannah Nuetzel competed in the 200m.
In the field events, Justin Davis recorded a mark of 6.81m in the long jump to round out the weekend.
