NASHVILLE – After a close defeat to Middle Tennessee State University on Saturday, the Lipscomb University women's tennis team came back strong with a 7-0 shutout of Eastern Illinois University, Sunday morning from the Ensworth Tennis Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After scuffling to earn the doubles point on Saturday, the Bisons had no problem with earning the team point on Sunday. After
Sofiia Paladi and
Serafima Bobrovnikova (2-2) won the No. 2 flight with a 6-0 victory,
Sofiia Zhylchuk and
Deborah Dominguez Collado (1-1) put Lipscomb on the board with a 6-1 triumph at the No. 3.
In singles, Bobronikova picked up where she left off on Saturday and cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win over Luisa Renovales for her fourth straight win of the spring.
The Bisons were able to clinch the match between the No. 1 and 4 flights, as Paladi and Dominguez Collado won their spots in the lineup at the same time. Paladi (4-0) posted 6-2, 6-2 scores, while Dominguez Collado (4-0) took down her opponent, 6-3, 6-0.
Lipscomb made it 6-0 with
Mariia Dolzhenko's (3-1) victory at the No. 2, 6-3, 6-2.
The final point of the morning turned to afternoon went to a tiebreak in the second set. After
Rut Galindo won 6-1 to start the frame, Charliegh Fay did not go away. Behind 5-4, EIU rallied to win two of the next three points to force the 7--point tiebreak. Galindo picked up the 7-4 victory to complete the sweep of the Panthers.

The home stand continues into next weekend, as the Bisons will host two foes from the Southern Conference: Samford on Friday and East Tennessee State on Saturday.
The match versus the Bulldogs will take place at 4 p.m. from the Ensworth Tennis Center.
