JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The Lipscomb University men's tennis team cut its deficit to 3-2 in singles, but East Tennessee State University rallied to win the final two points to secure the 5-2 victory, Sunday afternoon from the Dave Mullins Tennis Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After the Bucs clinched the doubles point to get out to a 1-0 lead, they added straight-set wins at the five and six flights in singles to improve their lead to 3-0. 

The Bisons did get on the board quickly with wins by Oskar Szymczak (6-3) and Facundo Perlov (7-2).

Szymczak got the visitors on the board first with his 6-1, 5-7, 6-4 victory at the top flight, while Perlov's 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 on court four cut the deficit to 3-2. 

However, ETSU's Martin Garcia-Ripoll clinched the match for the home team, taking down Giovanni Ciocca, 6-3, 2-6, 6-3.  

UP NEXT
With Lipscomb's scheduled match with Kennesaw State postponed on Sunday, the Bisons return to the court next Saturday, March 1, against Jacksonville State. First serve is set for noon at the Ensworth Tennis Center.
