NASHVILLE – In the first chapter of the 2025 edition of the Battle of the Boulevard, Lipscomb University dropped a 14-9 decision to Belmont University, Tuesday afternoon from Ken Dugan Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
With a nice, warm afternoon, the bats came to life in the first inning. The Bruins got on the board with a two-run single by Landon Godsey.
The Bisons responded in the bottom half of the frame with three runs.
Parks Bouck laced an RBI single to make it a 3-1 score.
Bouck later scored in the inning on a wild pitch to make it 3-2.
Two batters later,
Damion Kenealy Jr. dropped an RBI single to left field to tie the game at three runs apiece.
In the second, Belmont added four runs to retake the lead, 6-3, thanks to a Godsey two-run home run.
In the third, the Bruins added three more runs to lead 9-3.
The Bisons did chip away at the deficit.
David Coppedge made it 9-6 with a two-out, two-run shot to center field.
In the sixth, Belmont added four more runs to put the game away.
KEY STATISTICS
Damion Kenealy launched his third home run of the season, as he went 3-for-5 with two RBI.
David Coppedge blasted his first home run of the campaign, finishing 2-for-4 with two RBI and three runs scored.
Parks Bouck added two hits and three runs scored.
