ATLANTIC BEACH, Fla. – Lipscomb Men's Golf opened its Spring 2025 campaign at the Sea Best Invitational, finishing fifth in a field of 12 competitors. The squad consistently improved throughout the tournament, with scores of 293, 282, 280 (+3). The Bisons competed against four other ASUN teams, finishing better than three of its conference competitors in. North Alabama, Jacksonville and Queens.
Sam Potter and
Jaron Leasure paced the Bisons, both finishing tied for 17
th place in a field of 74 competitors. Potter started his tournament posting a 74 in the first round before improving several strokes with a 69 in round two. He rounded out the event with a 70 in the final round, finishing even on the tournament. Potter connected on 32 pars and added 10 birdies to bolster an eagle. Leasure led Lipscomb after the first round, with a team-best score of 71. He followed that with a 68 and 74 in the second and third rounds, respectively to finish even. Leasure had one eagle, seven birdies and a team-high 38 pars on the event.
Minas Manias and
Alejandro Rodriguez also had strong performances, finishing tied for 27
th in the field. Manias shot a 73 in the first round and a 76 in the second round before heating up with a 67 to round out his performance. Manias shot 30 pars in addition to a Lipscomb-high 13 birdies. All told, he finished (+3). Rodriguez struggled in his first round with a 68, but greatly improved in the final two rounds with a 69 in each, finishing at (+3). Rodriguez carded 12 birdies and 30 pars.
Jack Morris rounded out Lipscomb's team scoring, finishing tied for 63
rd. He finished with a 75 in each the first and third rounds and posted a 76 in the second round for a (+13). Morris finished with 32 pars and six birdies.
Toby Bishop competed as an individual, tying for 50
th place. In his first day of competition, Bishop was consistent with a 76 in each the first and second round, but improved with a 70 in the third round for a (+9) with seven birdies and 36 pars.
