HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bisons got out to a strong start in doubles, but the Ospreys made things interesting halfway through the set. On court three, trailing 4-2, Lorenzo Messina and Gianluca Filoramo won the next four points to put UNF up for the team point.
Meanwhile, on court one, after a strong start by
Filippo Verdese and
Juan Lombisano (1-5) to lead 4-2, Andreas Scott and Bruno Vietri won the next two to make it 4-all.
The next game went back to Lipscomb, as they took the next two points to win, 6-4, and all eyes were moved to court two.
Oskar Szymczak and
Facundo Perlov, playing as a doubles tandem for the first time this season, saw a 5-2 lead slip away, as Jean Deloziere and Joao Portugal picked up three straight points to even the set at five apiece.
Lipscomb was able to get back into the set with a 6-5 lead. In the next game, down 30-15, back-to-back net faults by UNF serving flipped the script and gave the Bisons the 1-0 team lead.
UNF made it a 2-1 lead after a retirement from court one, and a Chase Healey win on court six, the Bisons tied it back up with a quick 6-0, 6-3 victory by Lombisano (19-8) at the third flight, who picked up his 14th win of the spring campaign.
Meanwhile, down on court five, Testaud (15-9) won his third in a row with a 6-4, 6-4 result over Jean Doloziere to reclaim the lead.
The Bisons clinched the match from the second flight, as Szymczak (14-19) rallied from an early deficit to even his outing with Vietri. After winning the second frame, 6-2, the freshman rolled off six straight points in the final set to shut out Vietri, 2-6, 6-2, 6-0.
HERD NOTES
The 16th meeting all-time between the two schools went in favor of the Bisons for the first time in program history. The series dates back to 2007.

Since 1999, the most wins for the program came in 2002, when they won 13 matches in the program's third season of Division I transition from the NAIA.
Additionally, the five ASUN wins matched the program's best from last season.
After defeating Eastern Kentucky last Sunday, the Bisons clinched a berth into the ASUN Championship next week in Jacksonville, Florida and will play for the third straight season and the 17th time overall.
