KEN DUGAN AWARD
Prior to first pitch, Lipscomb recognized David Coppedge as the recipient of the 2025 Ken Dugan Award. In his honor, the award is given to the Lipscomb baseball player who

Most displays a love, passion and respect for the game of baseball
Best demonstrates a burning desire and work ethic to continuously improve as a player and become a true champion
Displays good character in victory and defeat
Has a deep respect for God, his family and his teammates

Established in 2001, The award is named after legendary head coach Ken Dugan, who played at Lipscomb from 1954-57 and returned in 1960 to lead the Bisons to 1,137 wins and two NAIA championships.

HOW IT HAPPENED
It was wash, rinse and repeat for the Governors in the top of the first by loading the bases with two outs. And history repeated itself. As Cole O'Brien struck out his final batter in the first in Thursday, Rigo Ramos followed suit with his final batter of the first frame on Friday.

The Bisons were able to get on the board first in the bottom of the second thanks to Keaton Mahan's two-run double.

APSU grabbed one of the runs back in the third on a fielder's choice by Gus Freeman.

In the fourth, after taking the lead with a two-run knock by Nathan Barksdale, he would later be gunned down at the plate to end the inning. With Barksdale at second base, John Bay laced a single to left field, and Parks Bouck fired a strike to Jake Berg at the plate for the final out of the frame.

Trailing 3-2, Lipscomb pulled even with a Brady Miller sacrifice fly in the fifth.

Austin Peay reclaimed the lead for good, as a leadoff walk by John Bay was cashed in by Gus Freeman despite grounding into a double play.

Lipscomb had opportunities in each of its final three innings, but they were unable to scratch across the tying run. In the ninth, after a high called third strike, Collin Goda restored order for the moment with a one-out double. After Aaron Stelogeannis moved him to third on a ground out, the Governors ended the threat with a 5-3 groundout.

KEY STATISTICS
Jake Berg posted a two-hit game, while Keaton Mahan put together a two-RBI game in the effort.
