NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb University baseball team concluded the 2025 regular season with a 14-4 loss to Austin Peay State University, Saturday afternoon from Ken Dugan Field at Stephen Lee Marsh Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Austin Peay batted around in the second inning, scoring five runs on two loud hits.
In the sixth, the Govs posted two home runs to extend the lead to 9-0.
The Bisons finally dented the scoreboard in the sixth with a
Ryan Austin RBI single.
APSU got the run back in the seventh with a bases-loaded walk.
In the seventh, with two outs and after the third walk of the inning to load the bases,
Kai Holm cleared them with his double to the left center field gap to cut the deficit to 10-4.
However, similar to the seventh, the Governors got the runs back in the eighth to make it a 14-4 lead to finish the game in eight innings.

Ryan Austin had the lone hits in the contest for the Bisons.
David Coppedge recorded three walks in four plate appearances, scoring two runs.
UP NEXT
With the regular season behind us, the Bisons will now turn their attention to the ASUN Championship, which will start on Tuesday in DeLand, Florida from Melching Field at Conrad Park.
Late Saturday night, the tournament bracket was set, and the Bisons will start the tournament with the Eagles of Florida Gulf Coast University, a rematch of the 2023 ASUN Tournament Championship.
FGCU finished the regular season as the 3-seed in the Graphite Division. Lipscomb earned teh 2-seed in the Gold.
First pitch is tentatively scheduled for 7:30 p.m. EDT, as the Eagles and Bisons are scheduled to be the final game of the first day of the tournament.
