SCORING SUMMARY

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Bisons had the better of the possession in the opening minutes, with the ball largely in its attacking half.

Marquette tested Lipscomb's Noah Kump, making his first start of the season between the pipes, for the first time in the 8' minute with a shot that he saved at the near post. Kump once again came up with a stop in the 15' minute as the Golden Eagles picked up the pressure.

The Golden Eagles took advantage of an opportunity in the 20' minute to net the opening goal for a 1-0 advantage in favor of the home side.

Josiah Green had the Bisons' best look at goal of the match so far in the 21' minute when he put in a shot from the left side of the 18, but the ball flew just wide of the back post.

Lipscomb utilized some attacking substitutes in the later part of the first frame, and the fresh legs gave the side new life. The Bisons began to connect passes and stretch the Marquette defense.

Levi Jones created a scoring opportunity in the 39' minute with a shot that forced a Marquette save at the near post. The ensuing corner kick looked promising with the Bisons getting off a couple of shots from the set piece, but the final shot sailed high of the crossbar.

The final attack of the first frame belonged to the Bisons when it earned a free kick in its offensive half after a yellow card was issued, but Lipscomb was unable to find frame and trailed 1-0 at the halftime break.

The Bisons opened the second half with energy, creating several chances in front of its goal. In the 53' minute, Lipscomb had a pair of corner kicks to put pressure on the Golden Eagles' defense. Lipscomb kept its foot on the gas, creating turnovers in the midfield and connected passes in front of goal over the next minutes. Daniel Stampatori was able to get off a couple of shots, but they were both off target.

Lipscomb continued to search for the equalizer over the waning minutes of the half, but were ultimately unable to find the back of the net.

The Bisons fell to an unbeaten Marquette 1-0 on the road to wrap up a three-match road stint.
