JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Freshman
Sydney Strenger of the Lipscomb University volleyball team has been selected as the Atlantic Sun Conference Freshman of the Week, as voted by the league office on Tuesday.
The McKinney, Texas native led all first years in attack percentage with a .524 clip, totaling 26 kills on 42 attempts with just four errors committed from the middle blocker position.
Against No. 1 Nebraska, she posted five kills in two sets and followed that with six kills against No. 7 Kentucky.
Sunday against Seton Hall, she earned her first collegiate start and finished as co-leader in kills with 15 with two attack errors in 21 attempts for a .619 attack percentage.
Additionally, she assisted on four blocks for 28.0 total points over the LUV Invitational.
She is the first player for Lipscomb to earn the Freshman weekly honor since
Sophia Hudepohl earned it in 2022.
The Bisons return to the floor this weekend for the Lippy Invitational starting with Vanderbilt on Thursday evening at 6 p.m. from Allen Arena.
