HOW IT HAPPENED

Wake Forest started the game with possession, but the Lipscomb defense was able to handle the Demon Deacons early and get the ball up the pitch for some play in front of the goal. The Bisons moved the ball well but were unable to get any shots off.

The first real chance for either side came in the 5' minute when Wake Forest put in a shot from outside the 18 that flew just wide of frame.

Wake Forest had a couple more shots in the next minutes, but Alex Kara was able to keep them out of the net.

The Bisons had a really promising chance in the 11' minute when Lipscomb launched a counterattack and William Bryan whipped a cross across the face of goal to Josiah Green. Green was streaking in towards the back post, but he didn't get a good foot on the ball, and the shot sailed wide.

The Demon Deacons launched an attack in the 22' minute from the midfield that resulted in a strong shot from range, but Kara was once again there to make a diving save to keep the match scoreless.

In the 25' minute, Wake Forest scored the first goal of the night when a shot from range ricocheted off a Lipscomb defender to the feet of a Demon Deacon just in front of goal, who buried the shot. The goal looked to potentially be offside, but after a review, the call of a goal would stand as Wake Forest took a 1-0 advantage.

Wake Forest took a 2-0 advantage with a 33' minute goal, and the score would hold to the halftime break.

After regrouping at the half, Lipscomb had a good chance in the 48' minute when Luke Hanlon put in a dangerous cross from the left flank that forced the keeper to come off his line and collect the ball.

The Demon Deacons responded with a goal in the 49' minute for a 3-0 advantage.

William Bryan nearly netted one for the Bisons in the 51' minute when he beat his defender on the right side and dribbled to the center of the box where he got the ball to his left foot, but his shot sailed just over the crossbar.

Raphael Constant entered the game for the Bisons in the 74' minute and less than a minute later had a good look at goal when he slipped through the defense, but his shot was just inches wide of the post.

The Demon Deacons netted the final score of the match in the 88' minute for a final score of 4-0 in favor of Wake Forest.
