HOW IT HAPPENED

The first 10 minutes of the match were played largely in Lipscomb's attacking half of the pitch before the Bisons got the first breakthrough of the night. Luke Hanlon flew up the left flank and sent a ball across the face of goal. Daniel Stampatori was at the back post to put the cross just in front of goal where Diego Ramirez finished it off with a tap in for a 1-0 Lipscomb lead.

Lipscomb stayed in control over the next minutes, forcing a pair of saves in the 17' minute when William Bryan and William Kennedy both found frame and tested the Panthers' keeper.

Georgia State tested Alex Kara for the first time in the 18' minute and he was ready and made a big save to keep Lipscomb out front.

Georgia State began to find its form and connect passes as the frame went on. In the 34' minute, the Panthers came inches from equalizing when a forward slipped behind the Lipscomb back line and got off a shot that clanged off the post.

Lipscomb had one more good attack in the first half when Daniel Firek ripped a shot in the 43' minute that forced a Georgia State save.

The Panthers continued to test the Lipscomb defense in the waning minutes of the half, but Kara helped Lipscomb stay ahead with five saves in the first frame as the Bisons took a 1-0 lead into the halftime break.

The game was back-and-forth in the opening minutes of the second frame. The Panthers, however, continued to pressure Lipscomb to find an equalizer. GSU had a good look in the 61' minute, but a shot sailed high above the crossbar to keep the Bisons ahead by a goal.

The Bisons began to find the ball more as the second half drew on. In the 75' minute, Levi Jones challenged the Georgia State defense and got behind the last man. He was pulled down from behind, and a yellow card was given. The play went to review for a potential red card, but the call stood, and Lipscomb earned a free kick in its attacking third.

The Bisons were inches from netting a second goal in the 81' minute when Hanlon charged up the sideline and put a ball to the feet of Jones who had a look at goal. His shot flew just over the crossbar to keep the lead 1-0 in favor of the Purple and Gold.

With three minutes left in the match, Georgia State found an equalizer for a 1-1 match.

Lipscomb pushed to find a winning goal in the final minutes. With 10 seconds left, the Bisons earned a free kick in its attacking half. The ball was put into the box, but couldn't find the back of the net.

The Bisons earned its first road result of the season with a 1-1 final score.
