HOW IT HAPPENED
The first quarter was a game of runs for both squads. Trailing 7-2, the Bisons used a 9-0 run, capped by a three-point play by McKayla Miller and a defense to offense transition by Miller to lead 11-7.

Stetson responded with a 7-0 run of their own to pull even at 14 at the end of the first stanza.

After the Hatters made it a 16-14 score early in the second, the Bisons answered with a 7-0 run that saw four points from Taylor Bowen and a triple from Hope Counts

Lipscomb kept the lead for most of the second quarter, but a 10-0 run by Stetson in the final two minutes of the period gave the home squad the 32-26 advantage.

The Hatters came out of the locker room as hot as they did when they went in to open the third quarter. The 10-0 run at the end of the first half swelled to 17-0 in the first two-plus minutes of the second half.

While the Stetson lead stayed in double figures for the majority of the period, the Bisons eventually cut the deficit to 10 with a Molly Heard jump shot, 51-41, after three quarters.

The Hatters started to pull away in the fourth quarter with a 9-2 run to lead 60-43 at the 6:37 mark, but the Bisons did not go away quietly, finishing the game on a 17-6 run that saw the Bisons go 5-of-12 from the field and holding the Hatters to 1-of-6.
