NASHVILLE – Between 17 3-pointers and shooting 67% from the field in the second half, the Lipscomb University Women's Basketball team cruised to an 87-42 victory over Bellarmine University, Wednesday night inside Allen Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Despite the visiting Knights getting a 6-3 lead with 6:50 left in the first quarter, the Bisons responded with an 8-0 run after back-to-back 3-pointers by
McKayla Miller and
Molly Heard.
Ahead 14-10 with 3:52 left in the period, Miller and Heard teamed up again for the final nine to make it a double-digit affair, 23-12, after one quarter of play.
For both sides, the rim was closed, as each team shot below 36% in the period. The Knights made it 28-21 score on a Haya Abdel Aal layup, but the duo of Heard and Miller struck again for the Bisons.
After a turnover by Bellarmine at the 2:49 mark, Miller returned the favor with a triple on the other end and that sparked an 8-0 run. Heard scored the final five points of the half as the home squad made it a 36-21 halftime lead.
In the second half, the Bisons went on an 18-3 run late in the quarter to swell the lead to 31 at the end of the period, 64-33.
Outscoring Bellarmine 51-21 in the second half, Lipscomb could not miss, as they connected on 18-of-27 in the final 20 minutes, 66.7% from the field. On the other end, the Knights made 8-of-33 from the floor, including 3-of-17 in the final period.
HERD NOTES
Lipscomb knocked down 17-of-34 from 3-point range on the night. The 17 triples marked the fourth in program history in a game and the second-most in an ASUN game.
Additionally, the 50% shot from beyond the arc marked the 22nd time in program history that they have connected at least half of their shots from long range.
KEY STATISTICS
Two Bisons scored 20-plus points in the contest.
McKayla Miller led all scorers with 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting, including 5-of-8 from downtown. Miller added six rebounds, three assists and two blocks.
Molly Heard also dropped 20 on the night on 7-of-10 with six rebounds. The senior also extended her streak with at least one steal to 26 straight games.
Maris Zurliene set a career-best with 16 points, adding eight rebounds and three assists.
Taylor Bowen chipped in nine points, six rebounds and six assists, while
Hope Counts added nine rebounds, six points and six dimes.

Lipscomb's regular season finale will take place inside Allen Arena on Friday night at 6 p.m. against in-state rival Austin Peay. Fans should arrive early, as the program will honor its two seniors in
