ATLANTA, Ga. – Lipscomb Track & Field opened the 2025 outdoor season at the Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket Invite on March 20–21, turning in a strong weekend highlighted by event wins, podium finishes, and depth across distance, sprints, relays, and field events.
The Bisons wasted no time making an impact in their outdoor debut, highlighted by a dominant showing in the women's steeplechase and multiple top-three finishes on the track.
Friday's action was led by the distance group, as Lipscomb claimed the top two spots in the women's 3000m steeplechase. Addi Greene captured the event win in 10:53.34, while Leonie Saurer followed closely behind to place second in 10:59.94.
In the men's 1500m, Will Jefferson turned in a strong early-season performance, placing third overall with a time of 3:48.55. On the women's side, Matilda Cole led the group with a 10th-place finish in 4:29.99.
The hurdles group also posted strong results, led by KeShawn Allen's third-place finish in the men's 110m hurdles (14.14), while Hannah Wright placed fifth in the women's 100m hurdles in 13:96.
Saturday's competition brought continued success on the track, highlighted by relay performances and strong finishes in the middle-distance events.
The men's 4x100m relay squad of Emery Eckert, Joel Nimoh, Wessel Vandernest, and Justin Davis placed second overall with a time of 41.93. In the 4x400m relays, the men's B team of Trey Haralson, Corban McGaughey, Gavin Bacus, and Brennan Kaplan captured the event win in 3:29.29, while the women's A team placed third in 3:53.65.
In the 800m, Linda Perez led the women's group with a fourth-place finish in 2:10.22, while Gavin Bacus paced the men with a 1:54.04 performance.
Across both days, Lipscomb showed strong depth in the sprints, distance races, and relays, marking a solid start to the outdoor campaign.
