Final Score: Lipscomb 9, Eastern Kentucky 2
Location: Nashville, Tennessee (Ken Dugan Field at Stephen Lee Marsh Stadium)
Records: Lipscomb (13-12, 6-3), Eastern Kentucky (8-20, 3-6)
HOW IT HAPPENED
After Eastern Kentucky started the scoring early in the contest with runs on Saturday, Lipscomb returned the favor on Sunday with a four-run frame in the bottom of the first.
With the bases loaded,
Cam Pruitt started the scoring for the Bisons with an RBI single. After a
Jordan Thomas sac fly,
Damion Kenealy Jr. made it a 4-0 lead with his two-run, first-pitch single to center field.
After a 1-2-3 inning by
Caden Shanks in the top of the second, the bats went back to work for the Bisons. After a throwing error started the frame and a
Brady Miller hit by pitch,
Kai Holm moved the runners over to second and third on a sac bunt.
Two batters later, Pruitt found the sweet spot again with a two-run RBI hit to right field to extend the lead to 6-0.
In the fourth, Pruitt tacked on his fourth RBI of the game with a groundout.
EKU did avoid the shutout in the fifth. However, with runners on first and second, Thomas made an outstanding catch in left field off the bat of Khaleel Pratt to end the threat.
Holm added two more runs with a two-out base knock up the middle to help solidify the game and series for Lipscomb, who earned its third ASUN series win in a row.
