NASHVILLE – Head Coach Lauren Sumski has finalized her coaching staff for the 2026-27 season with the addition of Makenna Reed as an Assistant Coach and Video Coordinator.
"We are excited to add Makenna to our program. She brings a wealth of experience across various basketball settings and is acutely attentive to detail. That, in combination with her drive and her team-first attitude, makes her the perfect addition to our program," said Sumski.
After spending one season with the women's basketball program at Goldey-Beacom College in Delaware, Reed transferred to Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania. She was a member of a program that qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships in 2025, where it finished in the second round with a 23-5 overall record.
After the season, she moved to a student assistant role with the Blue Jays, where she was the program's top video analyst. She was on a coaching staff that led the team to a 20-win season in 2026 and to the championship game in the Landmark Conference.
"One of my favorite things about Makenna is that while she definitely has a unique background in coaching, she has made a difference in the programs she's served with her diligence and commitment," said Sumski.
A native of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Reed graduated from Elizabethtown College in May 2026 with a Bachelor of Science in business administration.
Reed's hire finalizes the coaching staff for eighth-year head coach Lauren Sumski.
Announced earlier in the week, Bailey Pedigo was promoted to Director of Operations as she begins her third season with the team in 2026-27, and Elias Roelfsema was named the program's strength and conditioning coach.
Sydney Shelton returns to the Bisons staff for her fifth season as Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator.
Chris Sumski enters his eighth season as Associate Head Coach.
