Bisons Finish Fifth at JT Poston Invitational

WAYNESVILLE, N.C. – Lipscomb Men's Golf wrapped up the JT Poston Invitational on Tuesday, finishing fifth overall at 21-under par after three rounds at Waynesville Golf Club.
The Bisons put together a strong showing across the three-day event, highlighted by Andrew Sciortino, who led Lipscomb from start to finish and finished tied for fourth individually at 10-under par.
Sciortino opened the tournament with a 1-under 70 before making a significant move up the leaderboard in the second round. He fired a 6-under 65 on Monday to enter the final round at 7-under. Sciortino closed the tournament with another impressive performance, carding a 3-under 67 to finish at 10-under overall.
Ciaran Murphy also turned in a strong tournament for the Bisons, finishing tied for 10th at 8-under. Murphy opened with a 2-under 69 before matching Sciortino's second-round 65 to reach 7-under through 36 holes. He finished with a 1-under 70 in Tuesday's final round.
Lipscomb entered the final day tied for second as a team at 22-under, following a strong second-round performance that put the Bisons in contention near the top of the team leaderboard. The Bisons ultimately finished the tournament in fifth at 21-under.
Angelo Martinez finished tied for 54th at 1-over, opening with an even-par 71 and following with a 5-under 66 in the second round before closing with a 6-over 77.
Toby Bishop finished tied for 61st at 2-over. Bishop began the tournament with a 2-under 69, followed with a 1-under 70 and concluded the week with a 5-over 76.
Grant Tabar finished tied for 64th at 3-over, recording rounds of 70, 74 and 72.
