Kletz, Hooper Set Program Records at Loyola Lakefront Invitational

CHICAGO, Ill. – Lipscomb Cross Country turned in a pair of record-setting performances at the Loyola Lakefront Invitational, as Harley Kletz and Max Hooper each established new program records on Friday.

The Lipscomb men finished ninth out of 17 teams in the 8K, while the women placed 10th out of 17 teams in the 6K.

Men's 8K

Hooper led the Bisons with a historic performance, crossing the line 11th overall in 23:05.6 to establish a new Lipscomb program record in the 8K.

Kobey Yates was the next Bison across the line, finishing 37th in 23:24.5, followed closely by Camden Khon in 39th with a time of 23:26.0. Tristan Coles finished 48th in 23:34.7, while Harrison Boyd rounded out Lipscomb's scoring five in 69th at 23:45.0.

Will Jefferson followed just behind Boyd in 70th with a time of 23:45.4, while Joe Ponter finished 87th in 23:53.3. Kye Lowth crossed in 24:06.4, Brady Yingst recorded a 24:19.0 and Will Goodrich finished in 24:58.4.

Women's 6K

Kletz delivered the top performance of the day for the Lipscomb women, finishing eighth overall in 19:39.8. Her performance established a new Lipscomb 6K program record and earned the Bisons a top-10 individual finish.

Matilda Cole was Lipscomb's second finisher, placing 38th in 20:11.0, while Piper Schuster followed in 46th with a time of 20:15.4.

Ava Moody crossed the line in 70th at 20:32.4, with Hannah Governor finishing 72nd in 20:34.5 to complete the Bisons' scoring five. Jerica Glasser finished in 20:47.1, Lauren Eilers clocked a 20:49.6, Addi Greene finished in 21:45.3 and Addie Moore recorded a 22:02.9.

With Kletz and Hooper leading the way, Lipscomb left Chicago with two new program records as the Bisons continue their preparation for the championship portion of the season.
