Men’s Golf Finishes Third at Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Lipscomb Men's Golf opened its fall slate with a strong showing at the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate, finishing third in the 16-team field at The Grande Dunes Resort Club.
The Bisons finished the three-day event at 18-under par, securing third place in the tournament hosted by Coastal Carolina from Sept. 6-8.
Ciaran Murphy and Toby Bishop led the way for Lipscomb, each finishing tied for ninth individually at 5-under par.
Murphy put together rounds of 65, 71 and 75, highlighted by a blistering 7-under opening round. Bishop was steady throughout the tournament, carding rounds of 70, 69 and 72 to join Murphy inside the top 10.
Andrew Sciortino gave the Bisons a third top-20 finisher, tying for 19th at 2-under par. After opening with a 73, Sciortino fired a 3-under 68 in the second round before closing with another 73.
Angelo Martinez finished tied for 30th at even par following rounds of 71, 72 and 73. Grant Tabar also finished tied for 30th at even par. Tabar recorded rounds of 73, 74 and 69, closing the tournament with a 3-under final round.
