Lipscomb Lady Bisons basketball coach Frank Bennett has announced the signing of Cree Nix.
She is the daughter of Shawn and Dyron Nix. Dyron is a former standout basketball player at the University of Tennessee.
Cree was an All-State performer at Greater Atlanta Christian School in Atlanta, Ga. She was named to the GACA AA North All-State Team and was a second team selection on the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's AA All-State Team.
As a senior she averaged 7.6 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. She was credited with 59 steals and 33 assists.
Cree, 5-foot-10, was named to the 6-AA All-Region team. She helped guide Greater Atlanta Christian to the GACA AA State Championship her senior season. She was also a member of the South Forsyth Shootout All-Tournament Team and the Deep South Classic All-Tournament Team.
"Cree is a very athletic and versatile player," said Mike Mitchell, coach at Greater Atlanta Christian School. "She is a great rebounder and defender. She improved a great deal as a shooter and scorer for us this year.
"She is a hard worker and will do what it takes to help her team win. She has been an integral part of the past two seasons in helping to lead GACS to a state runner-up finish her junior year and winning the State Championship her senior year. Cree has the potential to become an excellent college basketball player."
Cree was also a member of the GACA State Championship in track and was also part of two second place state teams. She was AA All-State in the 300 hurdles and was also All-Region and All-Tournament.
Other schools that recruited her include Stetson, Mississippi State, Appalachian State and North Florida.
