Next up in the “Inside the Herd” series will be sophomore Morgan Turner. Turner, who hails from Guston, Kentucky, is entering her second season with the Lady Bisons.
As a returning player, have you felt the pressure to be a leader with so many new players on the roster?
“Yeah, I think so. Also, I don’t know if this factors in, but I’m kind of loud, so Coach Brown wants me to be vocal and lead in that way. I wouldn’t say its pressure; I’d say it’s a good thing to feel that way. But, I do want to be a leader for my team, especially coming off the freshman season.”
What’s the transition been like from freshman to sophomore season so far?
“I feel like more of a veteran. There’s not really a learning curve anymore. I know everything that I’ve been taught, and now it’s just a matter of perfecting it. I don’t have to learn from scratch again.”
What is a goal you have for yourself for this season?
“I think all of us just want to play as a team, have fun, and win games. I think that’s the whole reason we’re all here. I think we’re really going to get it rolling this season.”
What off-court hobbies do you have?
“Sleeping, and I read a little.”
Coach Brown’s thoughts on Morgan:
“I’m excited about her coming back. She came on strong at the end of the year. We liked what she did. Some of it was just a freshman adjustment. She’s had a good summer and a good fall so far for us. That excites me going into this sophomore season.”
