Women's Basketball falls on road at Murray State

MURRAY, Ky. - The Lipscomb women’s basketball team went on the road Tuesday night and fell to Murray State 97-61 inside the CFSB Center.

The Lady Bisons (2-3) had a slow start as they managed just eight points in the first quarter on 2-of-8 shooting from the field.

Lipscomb improved on that mark the rest of the way, shooting 37% on ints field goal attempts, but it was not enough as Murray State cruised behind a big night from long range. They shot 54% from behind the arc, knocking down 14-of-26 attempts.

The Racers forced the Lady Bisons into 22 turnovers, most of those coming from the full-court pressure that was applied throughout.

Anna Hammaker led Lipscomb with a career-high 17 points off the bench. The redshirt junior was also able to grab five boards and had one assist.

 

BISON BITES:

  • Kelley Morrow and Taylor Clark also reached double figures, scoring 13 and 11 points respectively. Morrow also brought down a team high nine boards.
  • Murray State outrebounded Lipscomb 42 to 35 –both had 10 on the offensive end.
  • The Racers blocked five shots, while the Lady Bisons didn’t record one
  • Lipscomb only had seven assists on the night, compared to 23 by Murray State

 

UP NEXT:

The Lady Bisons stay on the road this weekend with a trip to Cincinnati. They will take on the Bearcats on Saturday Nov. 24 at 1 p.m.
