Box Score FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Lipscomb women’s basketball team struggled on the road at FGCU on Tuesday night as the Eagles defeated the Lady Bisons 82-40 at Alico Arena.
Lipscomb (2-16, 0-5) got out to a slow start, while FGCU (14-4, 5-0) capitalized and never gave up the lead.
Freshman Jane Deason had another strong shooting night, tying for the team lead with 11 points on 4-6 shooting, including 3-5 from three-point range.
It was her sixth double-digit scoring output of the season, and second in the last three games.
Sophomore Taylor Clark also notched 11 points for her 12th double-figures game of the year and fourth in the last five matches.
Clark shot 5-10 from the floor and added two rebounds and two assists.
BISON TIDBITS:
- Junior Lauren Rau led the team with a 3-4 clip from the free throw line. She also grabbed a team-best five rebounds, dished out a team-high three assist, and swiped two steals.
- Junior Carleigh short led Lipscomb with a career-best three steals, while Deason added two swipes.
- Deason notched Lipscomb’s only block in the loss.
- FGCU out-rebounded Lipscomb 36-29, and had 26 assists to Lipscomb’s 8.
- Lipscomb forced 18 turnover, but gave up a season-worst 29.
- 10 Lady Bisons played 10 or more minutes, led by 25 from Rau.
