Box Score NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb women’s basketball team fell against the ASUN’s top-ranked FGCU Eagles on Tuesday night 80-43.
The Lady Bisons (3-23, 1-12) and FGCU (22-4, 13-0) were forced to play across town in Belmont’s Curb Event Center due to a power outage on Lipscomb’s campus.
After a strong first frame where the Purple and Gold traded blows with the Eagles, the Lady Bisons were unable to keep pace with the dominant FGCU squad for the remaining three quarters.
Freshman Jane Deason and redshirt-junior Anna Hammaker tied for the team lead with seven points apiece. Deason also notched six rebounds.
Gabi Grillon grabbed a team and career-high eight rebounds.
As a team, Lipscomb won the rebounding battle 42-41.
Destiny Washington and Nasrin Ulel paced the Eagles with 17 and 15 points, respectively.
