Pepper Signs With British Basketball League’s Glasgow Rocks

NASHVILLE - Former Lipscomb Men's Basketball student-athlete Eli Pepper has signed his first professional basketball contract with Radisson RED Glasgow Rocks of Scotland.

The Princeton, Kentucky product becomes the sixth Rocks player signed for the 2019-20 season. He joins GB U20 International Earl Russell as the two earn additions to a roster that will bring back four returnees from a season ago.

“Every kid that picks up a basketball dreams of playing at the professional level, and there is no better place to begin my career than with the Glasgow Rocks,” Pepper said. I look forward to the many wins that will soon come.”

Pepper closed the books on his record-setting career last month as a Bison after helping guide Lipscomb to a runner-up finish in the NIT in New York City.

A three-time ASUN All-Academic Team selection during his time in Nashville, Pepper became Lipscomb’s all-time leading rebounder in its Division I era with 1,016 career boards. That number also placed him third in the ASUN record books after passing Centenary’s Willie Jackson (1980-84), who had 1,013.

During his four seasons with the Bisons, Pepper averaged 6.9 PPG and 7.6 RPG over 134 career games, including 132 starts. He owns the program’s NCAA era single-game record of 25 rebounds pulled down against Fisk in his junior season.

Pepper becomes the fifth former Bison who is playing on the professional level as he joins Josh Williams, Malcolm Smith, Khion Sankey and Martin Smith.

Radisson RED Glasgow finished fifth in the British Basketball League (BBL) last season after going 18-15. The BBL features 12 teams and represent the highest level of play in the country.
