NASHVILLE – Recent Lipscomb men's basketball graduate Andrew Fleming announced his intention to play professional basketball on Friday after signing with an agent.

Fleming will be represented Daniel Green and his Green Sports Management team, who is certified by the NBA and FIBA.

"I think it is best for me, and I am excited about hiring a great agent who will help me explore my opportunities in professional basketball," Fleming said. "I've always wanted to be a professional basketball player, and this is my first step towards making a lifelong dream come true."

Fleming wrapped up his collegiate career in March after helping guide the Bisons to their third-straight ASUN Conference Final. The 6-foot-5 guard put together his best season, averaging 9.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. He shot 51.3 percent from the field, including 37.6 percent from three-point range, and proved to be one of the better free throw shooters on the team, draining 41-of-53 attempts for a 77.4 percent clip.

The Ensworth High School product was named to the ASUN All-Tournament Team after scoring 15.0 points per game in March. He saved the best performance of his career for the ASUN semifinals on the road at No. 2 North Florida where he poured in a career-high 26 points and hit the game-winning floater with 3.1 seconds remaining to send Lipscomb to the title match.

With the current situation around the world, Fleming is unsure of what comes next, but he is eager to find out.

"The virus has caused some serious unknowns for my life after basketball, but I am excited to see what is next for me," Fleming said. "Opportunities in coaching and internships are hard to come by because of the standstill, but I am excited about hiring a great agent that is helping me navigate what is next for me. Danny Green is an experienced professional, and will help push me in the right direction."
