NASHVILLE - The Lipscomb women's basketball team defeated Bellarmine 65-58 on Sunday to remain unbeaten at home and to start off ASUN play with a series sweep.
Jalyn Holcomb scored a career-high 28 points as the Lady Bisons improved to a perfect 5-0 at Allen Arena.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED
After Saturday's high-scoring affair, the Lady Bisons (5-5, 2-2Â ASUN) and Bellarmine (0-7, 0-2) battled it out in a lower scoring game on Sunday.Â
Lipscomb jumped out to an early 15-5 lead, but a sluggish second quarter brough the Knights to within five, 33-28, at the half.Â

Holcomb and fellow sophomore guard Casey Collier took over in the third quarter, each scoring seven points to hold onto the Lipscomb lead.Â

Bellarmine closed the gap all the way down to one point in the final frame, but 10 fourth quarter points from Holcomb gave Lipscomb the win.Â

Holcomb's 28 points came efficiently, shooting 11-15 from the field, 3-5 from three, and 3-4 from the line.Â

Collier was the only other Lady Bison in double-figures at 13. She led the team with seven rebounds and added two steals.Â

Freshman Jordan Peete added nine points, three rebounds, and one steal.Â

In her first game back from injury, Dorie Harrison grabbed five rebounds and notched a team-best three steals.Â

After setting a season high with 16 three's on Saturday, Lipscomb went just 6-20 from behind the arc on Sunday.Â

Sydney Shelton and Jane Deason tied for the team lead with two assists. Shelton also had two steals.Â

Seven Lady Bisons played double-digit minutes, led by 36 from Collier.Â
