FORT MYERS, Fla. - A short-handed Lipscomb women's basketball team fell 100-49 at FGCU on Saturday afternoon in their return to action after a two-week break.
Senior Taylor Clark and junior Dorie Harrison led the way with 13 points each, while Harrison grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds.Â
Clark surpassed 1,000 career points in the loss, becoming the 10th Lady Bison to do so in the Division I era.Â
The Lawrenceburg native joins Alex Banks, Jenna Bartsokas, Anna Bowers, Courtney Boynton, Loren Cagle, Katie Beth Pate, Hannah Phillips, Kendra Ramsey, and Ashley Southern in the exclusive club.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lady Bisons (5-6, 2-3 ASUN) hung tight with FGCU (10-2, 3-0), taking an early lead in the first quarter and finding themselves down single digits after the period.Â

The Eagles began to expand on their lead in the second period, but seven points from Clark kept Lipscomb within striking distance.

It was the third quarter that did the Purple and Gold in, as the Eagles outscored Lipscomb 30-9.Â
By the fourth quarter, the lead had ballooned out too far for the short-handed Lady Bisons to make a comeback.Â

Clark shot an efficient 6-8 from the field, including 6-7 from inside the arc. She also tied Jalyn Holcomb for the team lead with two assists.Â

Harrison's double-double was her second of the season. She also swatted a team-best two shots.Â

Jane Deason grabbed seven boards, a season-best.Â

Jordan Peete scored nine points and blocked one shot in her first career start.Â

All nine Lady Bisons available played at least 13 minutes. Deason logged the most with 28.Â
