Lady Bisons set season highs for points, 3s in win over Bellarmine

NASHVILLE - The Lipscomb women's basketball team lit up the scoreboard on Saturday, winning the first ASUN home game of the 2020-21 campaign 84-72 against Bellarmine.

All five starters finished in double figures as the Lady Bisons set season highs for points scored and with 16 three-pointers made.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Lady Bisons (4-5) started the game on fire, out-scoring Bellarmine (0-6) 32-17 in the first quarter, their highest output for a single quarter on the season.

Lipscomb continued to pour it on the hoop in the second quarter. Jane Deason hit three three-pointers in the period to send the Lady Bisons into halftime up 54-37.

Sydney Shelton opened up the second half as she did the first, with one of her four three-pointers. But much of the second half saw Lipscomb struggling to score.

The Knights made a spirited effort at a comeback late, but Lipscomb was able to hold off the run with balanced scoring and three-point proficiency.
