Lady Bisons Finish Season Perfect at Home

NASHVILLE – Lipscomb Women's Basketball completed a perfect 10-0 home season at Allen Arena Sunday afternoon with an 87-69 ASUN victory over North Alabama. This marks the first time that any program at Lipscomb has had a perfect home season in the Division I era.

On senior day, senior Taylor Clark lead the way with 23 points and nine rebounds. Fellow senior Lindsey Whiteside poured in 11 points and five rebounds. Jane Deason (19) and Jalyn Holcomb (12) also scored in double figures to help secure the victory.

Despite a slow start, the Bisons went on a 10-3 run to end the first quarter on top. Whiteside capped off the run with a triple at the end of the quarter to give the Bisons its first lead 15-13.

Lipscomb kept the momentum coming out of the timeout. Deason picked up right where Whiteside left off with a triple to open the second quarter. The bucket sparked a 13-3 run to start the second frame.

The Bisons continued on and increased the lead to as many as 12 points at the 6:02 mark of the second quarter. When things looked bleak for North Alabama, the Lions went on a 12-6 run of their own to cut the Bisons lead 32-27.

Lipscomb stopped the run when Deason converted an and one opportunity to give the Bisons a spark.

At the end of the second quarter, Taylor Clark put Lipscomb back up by double-digits with a layup for the final score of the half. The bucket gave the Bisons a 37-27 lead heading into the locker room at the break.

The break didn't slow down the Bisons energy as Whiteside set the tone with another and one opportunity to open the half.

Lipscomb continued on a 10-2 lead that forced an early timeout from North Alabama who was trailing 47-29. The Lions tried to claw back, but consistent work on both ends of the ball kept Lipscomb in the lead 62-44 heading into the final frame.

Both squads scored 25 points in the fourth frame for a final score of 87-69 to cap off the Lipscomb Women's Basketball home season.
