Box Score KENNESAW, Ga. – Lipscomb Women's Basketball fell to 11-9, (8-7) after dropping a 78-62 decision at Kennesaw State Friday afternoon to round out the regular season.
Jordan Peete and
Taylor Clark scored 15 each, combining for nearly half of Lipscomb's points.
Dorie Harrison also scored in double figures, contributing 11 points along with 8 rebounds.
The Bisons looked good early when
Jane Deason drained a triple for the Bisons' first points of the game to take a 3-2 lead.
The first quarter continued on to be a back-and-forth affair with the teams trading points.
At the end of the first quarter, the Owls threatened to take the first two-possession lead of the day, but
Jordan Peete shot a dagger that kept Lipscomb within a pair (23-18) to end the first frame.
The second quarter had a different feel with Kennesaw State getting into a rhythm. Starting at the 8:18 mark, the Owls went on an 11-0 run that spanned more than four minutes, giving them a 36-24 lead.
Jalyn Holcomb finally stopped the bleeding with a reverse layup to cut the lead 36-26.
The Bisons started to get back in sync at the end of the second quarter, making five of its last six field goals, but went into the locker room down 48-35.
Lipscomb looked good out of the halftime break, going on a 7-3 run that was capped off by a layup from
Dorie Harrison. The run made the score 53-42, putting the Bisons back within single digits.
Kennesaw had more to say though and went on 6-0 run of their own to close out the third quarter, extending its lead back to double digits.
The Bisons continued to fight and went on yet another 6-0 run to start the final frame. Back-to-back makes by
Taylor Clark forced a Kennesaw State timeout as their lead had dwindled 59-50.
The Owls answered with an 8-0 run out of the timeout to retake control. The deficit was too much for Lipscomb to overcome as the Bisons fell 78-62 in the regular season finale.

Lipscomb will head to the ASUN Championship March 11-14 in Kennesaw, Ga. Seeding will be finalized after this weekend's full slate of conference games.
