Scott Gulden was named the ASUN Defensive Player of the Week the league announced Tuesday. This marks Gulden's first career Defensive Player of the Week honor and Lipscomb's 26th all-time.
Gulden was named the first Defensive Player of the Week of the fall 2021 season after scoring the game-winner at San Diego to help propel Lipscomb to a 2-0 start on the season. His goal at San Diego marked his first career goal.
He also helped anchor a back line that allowed just one goal on opening weekend and held UCLA and San Diego to a combined four shots on goal.
The Bisons opened the season 2-0 after a 2-1 victory at San Diego and a 4-0 victory at San Diego. Lipscomb will be back on the pitch for its home opener Friday, September 3 at 7 p.m. CT.
