Women's Basketball Releases 2021-2022 Schedule

NASHVILLE – After much anticipation, head coach Lauren Sumski and the Lipscomb women's basketball team announced the full 2021-2022 schedule on Friday.

The schedule includes 29 regular season games, including a 16-game ASUN Conference slate. Fans will have the opportunity to catch 14 games at Allen Arena.

Of the home slate, eight of the games are ASUN matchups and three games will boast in-state matchups.

SEASON TICKETS
Season tickets are NOW ON SALE and can be purchased by calling 615-966-4378 or by going to the online ticket link at LipscombTickets.com. Women's basketball season tickets are available for $50 for general admission to all home games. Single game tickets will be available for $10. All-Sports Gold Passes are available for $300 that allows you entrance to any Lipscomb game played on campus.

NONCONFERENCE PORTION
The nonconference slate includes seven road games and six home games with four opponents that made appearances in their conference tournament finals game, four 2020 NCAA Tournament participants and two second round NCAA Tournament teams.

The Bisons will be tested early with a pair of road games against BYU and Utah on Nov. 9 & 10, respectively, to open the season. BYU is coming off a 2020 season that saw the squad make it to the West Coast Conference championship game where they fell by one point to Gonzaga. The Cougars earned an at-large bid to the 2020 NCAA Tournament where they eventually fell in the second round to Arizona.

Lipscomb's first home tests come Nov. 16 against Shorter and Nov. 28 against Life at Allen Arena.

Other early road games include a tilt at Colorado State (Nov. 21) and the Battle of the Boulevard at Belmont (Dec. 2). The trek down the Boulevard promises to be an exciting matchup with Belmont coming off a season in which they won the OVC Tournament Title and made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Bisons' longest homestand of the season comes Dec. 5-15 with four games during that time span. Lipscomb will open those games with a matchup with 2020 NCAA Tournament participant, MTSU (Dec. 5) and will host LaGrange on Dec. 8. In-state rivals Tennessee Wesleyan and Tennessee State will round out the homestand on Dec. 12 and Dec. 15, respectively.

Lipscomb's nonconference slate rounds out with three-straight road games at Murray State (Dec. 18), Eastern Kentucky (Dec. 20) and Cincinnati (Dec. 29).

ASUN PLAY
Lipscomb begins its conference slate Jan. 5 at home against North Alabama before heading south to Central Arkansas (Jan. 8) and ASUN newcomer, Jacksonville State (Jan. 12). January continues with a home matchup against Bellarmine (Jan. 15) and a midweek game at another ASUN newcomer, Eastern Kentucky (Jan. 19). The month will round out with Lipscomb's third home conference game against Kennesaw State (Jan. 22) before two more road games against Jacksonville (Jan. 27) and North Florida (Jan. 29).

After being on the road for most of January, the Bisons will be in Allen Arena for the better portion of February. The back half of ASUN play begins with two chances for the fans to catch the Bisons with home games against Stetson (Feb. 3) and ASUN foe Florida Gulf Coast (Feb. 5). The matchup with FGCU will be a rematch of the 2020 ASUN Semifinal match where the Eagles narrowly edged the Bisons to advance to the finals.

February continues with the Bisons welcoming Eastern Kentucky (Feb. 12) and Jacksonville State (Feb. 17). Lipscomb's road games conclude with North Alabama (Feb. 19) and Bellarmine (Feb. 24). The regular season will conclude with the Bisons' welcoming ASUN newcomer, Central Arkansas, to Allen Arena for the first time.
