ATLANTA, Ga. – Lipscomb Men's Basketball's Ahsan Asadullah was named to the ASUN Men's Basketball Preseason All-Conference Team, the league office announced Wednesday.
 
Asadullah was one of just three unanimous selections on the team, joining Kevion Noal of Jacksonville and Liberty's Darius McGhee, who was named Preseason Player of the Year.
 
The Atlanta, Ga. Native is a three-time ASUN First Team Selection team member and was named to the 2022 ASUN All-Academic Team and 2022 NABC Second Team All-District. 
 
In another spectacular season during the 2021-22 campaign, the center totaled 15.2 points per game, 9.0 rebounds per game and 4.6 assists per game.  Although he missed the entire month of December, he still managed to rank among the leaders in the ASUN in multiple categories, including rebounding (2^nd – 9.0), total defensive boards (2^nd – 187) and total rebounds (3^rd – 226). In addition, he finished sixth in scoring and ninth in assists. Asadullah posted the second-most double-doubles in the ASUN with 13, the 21^st most in the nation. For the fourth-straight season, the big man shot over .500 from the floor.
 
On the national stage, Asadullah ranked 11^th in the nation in defensive rebounding at 7.48 per game and 28^thin total rebounding. 
 
All told, Asadullah totaled 114 assists, 25 block and 19 steals and pulled down more than 10 rebounds in 14 games and dished out more than five helpers in 15 games a season ago. 
 
The Bisons were picked to finish sixth in the preseason poll, voted on by the league's head coaches. In the media poll, Lipscomb was predicted to finish eighth. 
 
Lipscomb will tip off the season on November 9 at South Dakota.
