Baseball Announces 2023 Schedule

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Lipscomb baseball and reigning ASUN Coach of the Year Jeff Forehand are excited to announce the 2023 schedule.

"We are very excited about our 2023 schedule," said Forehand. "We feel it is our most challenging schedule in 16 years and should be one of the toughest in the country."

The Bisons will play a total of 55 games this coming season, 25 of those taking place at Ken Dugan Field.

Lipscomb will open the season with seven-straight home games including an opening day series against 2022 College World Series participant Notre Dame (Feb. 17-19), a weekday matchup with Southern Indiana (Feb. 21), followed by a series with the University of Illinois-Chicago (Feb. 24-26).

The Bisons will then hit the road for five games with their first road contest of the season coming against Tennessee Tech (Feb. 28).

Coach Forehand's bunch will take on several "Power-Five" and perennial powerhouse programs in 2023 including a series with Auburn (Mar. 3-5), single-game matchups with Georgia Tech (Mar. 7), Tennessee (Mar. 14), Arkansas (May 2) and Louisville (Apr. 4), and then a series with Mississippi State (Mar. 10-12). They will also take on Vanderbilt (Mar. 21) at First Horizon Field, home of the Nashville Sounds.

The Bisons will play two contest with crosstown rival Belmont with the first being at Ken Dugan Field (Mar. 8) and the second at Rose Park (May 9).

For the third straight season, Lipscomb will kick-off conference play at home as they will host Jacksonville (Mar. 8) for their first ASUN action of the season.

Other home conference series for the Bisons include Liberty (Mar. 31-Apr. 2), Bellarmine (Apr. 21-23), Kennesaw State (May 5-7), and Jacksonville State (May 18-20) to close out the regular season.

Lipscomb will play five ASUN road series including conference newcomer Queens (Mar. 24-26), North Alabama (Apr. 6-8), Stetson (Apr. 14-16), and Eastern Kentucky (Apr. 28-30).

The 2023 ASUN Baseball Championship will take place in DeLand, Fla. at Melching Field at Conrad Park on May 23-27.

"As you can see, we have a solid non-conference schedule with Power-Five opponents and we are excited about playing more teams in the ASUN," added Forehand. "We are looking forward to the challenge and hope our fans are too. We will see you at "The Dug" on February 17th when we host Notre Dame."
