EKU continued with the momentum and forced a couple Lipscomb turnovers and connected on its first triple of the night for a 26-21 lead with 7:57 left in the second quarter.

Collier broke the Bisons' scoring drought by driving the basket and drawing a foul. She connected on her free throws to pull Lipscomb back within a possession. Collier continued to carry the Lipscomb offense scoring on the next possession, but the Colonels mounted a 12-5 run over the next four minutes for a 38-30 lead with 3:34 left in the half. The Colonels continued to give Lipscomb trouble on both ends of the floor and took a 48-33 lead into the halftime break.

The Colonels started where they left off with a triple on their first possession, but a couple of free throws and back-to-back treys by Jalyn Holcomb cut EKU's lead 51-41.
