PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Lipscomb Men's Golf began its spring 2023 season at the Sea Best Invitational, finishing sixth as a team in a field of 13, shooting an 875 (+35) on the tournament.
Ford Goldasich led the charge for the Bisons finishing tied for 26
th overall. He had a slow start to the tournament, carding a 76 and 74 in the first two rounds, but had a strong final round. He posted a (-4), 66, on the final 18-holes to finish (+6), 216, on the tournament.
Gregor McKenzie finished tied for 29
th, the second-best finish for the Lipscomb squad. McKenzie carded a pair of 73 rounds in the first and third round while posting a 71 in the second round to finish with a 217 (+7) on the event.
Jason Hong wrapped up the event with a 218 (72, 75, 71) to finish (+8) over the two days. After the first two rounds, Hong found himself in 39
th place overall, but improved six spots over the final round of competition, finishing (+1) in the final round. Hong did have 13 birdies over the span of the event, tied for second in the tournament.
Will Holan and
Alejandro Rodriguez rounded out the team scoring for the Bisons and finished in 57
th and 62
ndplaces, respectively. Holan shot a 226 (75, 76, 75) while Rodriguez carded a 228 (74, 76, 78).
Competing as an individual,
Minas Manias finished tied for 22
nd overall. He posted a 74 in the opening round before heating up in the final two rounds with a 71 and 70, respectively for a 215 (+5) on the tournament.
As a squad, the Bisons finished with 40 birdies and 154 pars over the three rounds of competition.
