McFadden Named 2023 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Defender to Watch

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Lipscomb women's soccer redshirt senior Logan McFadden earned distinction for the 2023 season as a United Soccer Coaches (USC) 2023 NCAA Division I Player to Watch for Defenders as announced by the USC organization on Tuesday.

McFadden, a two-time USC All-Region team selection, earned her spot on the list following a 2022 season in which she led the Bisons defensive efforts from the center back position.

She spent a total of 1,627 minutes on the pitch, starting in all 19 of the squad's matches throughout the season and putting up at least 90 minutes in 15 matches.

McFadden's influence on Lipscomb's defense helped the Bisons hold their opponents to an average of just 9.8 shots per game, totaling 167 more shots than all of their opponents combined.

The Birmingham, Ala. native herself logged six shots over the season, landing four on target including the squad's lone goal against the Vanderbilt Commodores to end the SEC powerhouse's shutout streak with a 1-1 draw.

McFadden and the Bisons will kick off the 2023 season at home on Thursday, Aug. 17^th with a 6PM season and home opener against the Troy University Trojans.
