NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb University Athletics celebrated a historic milestone following its 8th Annual Day of Giving on Feb. 26, shattering both departmental and university records in a single day of giving.
With the theme "Six26 on Two26," the goal was to raise $626,000 in 24 hours. When the final totals were confirmed, the Bison community had delivered far beyond the target—raising
$704,629 from
1,626 donors.
The results mark the first time in program history that Lipscomb Athletics has surpassed
$700,000 in a Day of Giving and the first time it has eclipsed
1,600 donors in a single day. The total represents 113 percent of the dollar goal and 96 percent of the donor goal.
"What a result. What a vote of confidence," said Director of Athletics
Philip Hutcheson. "This will make a lasting difference for our programs and in the lives of our student-athletes. It is all thanks to our incredible supporters. It's a great day to be a Bison."
A defining highlight of the day was record-breaking involvement from current and former student-athletes, coaches, and families. While large gifts move the needle, donor records are built one supporter at a time—and the Lipscomb community responded in historic fashion.
