Mitchell Promoted to Athletics Advisor and Certification Officer

Lipscomb Athletics announces the promotion of Morgan Mitchell to Athletics Advisor and Certification Officer. Mitchell has served as Director of Academic Services for the past four years and brings extensive experience in student-athlete support and NCAA compliance to her expanded role.
 
In her new position, Mitchell will oversee NCAA eligibility certification for all student-athletes, formally advise upperclassmen athletes, and serve as a key liaison between Athletics and campus partners, including the Registrar's Office, Academic Success Center, and other stakeholders. This promotion reflects both her exceptional performance and the department's commitment to comprehensive student-athlete academic support.

Prior to her time at Lipscomb, Mitchell, a former Mercer University volleyball student-athlete, had served as the academic advisor for Austin Peay State University's and Stephen F. Austin University's football programs. Once at Lipscomb, as Director of Academic Services, Mitchell oversaw study hall operations for student-athletes, connected athletes with tutoring resources, and provided targeted support for academically at-risk athletes, where her service-minded approach and advocacy for student-athletes have made her a trusted resource across campus.
 
A former student-athlete herself, Mitchell brings firsthand understanding of the unique challenges athletes face in balancing academic and athletic commitments. This perspective, combined with her meticulous approach to certification and advising, has earned her respect from student-athletes, coaches, and colleagues alike.
