SCORING SUMMARY
HOW IT HAPPENED
With a highly anticipated rematch of the 2021 and 2022 ASUN Tournament finals, both teams were aggressive early. Lipscomb, however, was the first to get on the scoresheet in the 11' minute. Spicer scored his ninth of the season when Stinnett played the ball from the midfield to a streaking Spicer on the left side. Spicer got in behind the defense and slotted a left-footed shot inside the far post for a 1-0 lead.
Central Arkansas wasted little time netting the equalizer when a free kick found the back of the net in the 15' minute for a 1-1 game.
Once again, the response came quickly when Dang dribbled the ball up the field from the back line and drilled a right-footed shot through a host of players and inside the far post for a 2-1 advantage.
The Bisons continued on the attack and netted another goal in the 23' minute. This time, Smith got a pass from Spicer and forced a big save, but got on the end of the rebound for a 3-1 Lipscomb advantage.
The Bears tried to respond with a pair of shots in the next couple of minutes, but
Juan Carlos Rodriguez made two huge stops, keeping the Bisons ahead.
Lipscomb would hold the 3-1 lead to the halftime whistle.
After the halftime break, Lipscomb once again came out with a fire and Spicer scored his second of the match in the 49' minute. This goal came off of a left-footed free kick for a 4-1 Lipscomb lead.
The goals continued to come for the Bisons when Smith secured the second brace of the day with his second goal of the afternoon. Once again, Stinnett played a beautiful ball past the defense and found Smith who put a right-footed shot in the back of the net for a 5-1 lead.
Lipscomb's sixth goal of the night came in the 67' minute during the run of play. After a throw in, Alonefti got the ball and played a through ball to Bryan who dribbled up the field and scored the goal for a 6-1 lead.
Central Arkansas got a couple back late in the match with goals in the 78' and 83' minutes for a 6-3 ballgame.
The Bisons defended the remainder of the match and held onto a 6-3 victory to stay undefeated in ASUN play.
