MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Lipscomb Baseball snapped a five-game losing skid with a 7-4 midweek win over Memphis (12-15, 1-2 AAC) Tuesday afternoon on the road.
Alex Vergara hit his second lead-off homer to start a game in the last week, a solo shot to left field to put the Bisons on the board and in front at the beginning of Tuesday's matchup.
Parks Bouck increased the Bisons' lead in the third inning with a single that scored two, which gave Lipscomb a 3-0 advantage.
The Bisons brought three more runs across home plate in the seventh, the first on a solo homer from Alex Vergara, his second of the afterboon, and a two-run blast by Austin Kelly to go up 6-0 over the Tigers.
The Tigers plated two in the seventh and eighth after the Bisons held Memphis scoreless for the first six frames. Still, after getting a run back in the eighth on an error by the Tigers, Lipscomb held their lead, securing the final three outs in the ninth for their fifth win of the season in a 7-4 decision.
