Men's Basketball Reveals 2024-25 Non-Conference Slate

NASHVILLE – Lipscomb Men's Basketball and head coach Lennie Acuff released their full 2024-25 non-conference schedules on Wednesday. The non-conference slate includes 13 matchups for the Bisons with six chances to catch Lipscomb at home in Allen Arena.

"As we worked throughout the summer to put together our 2024-25 schedule, it became obvious that we would be challenged early and often at an extremely high level," said Acuff.

The Bisons will kick off its season with a two-game road swing. The first matchup is set for Monday, November 4 at Atlantic 10 foe, Duquesne. Last season, the Dukes were a March story by defeating VCU in the Atlantic 10 championship to get to the NCAA tournament where it won its first round game against BYU before eventually falling to Illinois in the second round. After the matchup in Pittsburgh, the Bisons quickly head to Fayetteville, Arkansas. Lipscomb will face new head coach John Calipari and the Arkansas Razorbacks on Wednesday, November 6.

Lipscomb will return to Allen Arena on Saturday, November 9 to take on Wofford as part of the ASUN-SoCon Challenge. The Bisons will stay home for another early test for the 2024 edition of the Battle of the Boulevard against Belmont on Tuesday, November 12.

The Purple and Gold go back on the road for a pair of games in the Bluegrass State on Sunday, November 17 and Tuesday, November 19. Lipscomb first takes on Western Kentucky in Bowling Green before heading to Rupp Arena for a tilt at Kentucky.

Lipscomb's final two games in November are at home on Sunday, November 24 against Jackson State before wrapping up on Saturday, November 30 at Alabama A&M.

"Road games to start the year at NCAA Tournament teams Duquesne, Western Kentucky, Kentucky and preseason Top-20 Arkansas along with future trips to Alabama A&M, Chattanooga and MTSU will be as difficult as any team at our level of college basketball," added Acuff.

The Bisons have five games in December, starting with its second game as part of the ASUN-SoCon Challenge where it will face Chattanooga on the road. Fans then have two opportunities to see Lipscomb in Allen Arena on December 5 and 16. On Thursday, December 5 the Bisons welcome the OVC's Southeast Missouri State before facing Truett-McConnell on the 16th.

"We are excited to have a home slate that will allow our fans to see elite programs come to Allen Arena as well. Wofford, Belmont, Jackson State and SEMO are all teams that will play at the top of their leagues in 2024-25. Along with nine ASUN opponents, this makes the most attractive home schedule we've had in our time at Lipscomb. We understand that we will be exposed every night we take the floor, but we choose to look at this as an opportunity to grow as we move towards our ultimate goal of playing our best basketball in March," commented Acuff.

Lipscomb will head down the road to MTSU on Thursday, December 19 before rounding out its non-conference slate on Sunday, December 29 at home against Asbury.
