LOUISVILLE, KY – Lipscomb took a weekend trip to Louisville to participate in the Lenny Lyles Invitational hosted by the University of Louisville.
Kiara Smeltz boasted an impressive 4:36.85 mile time to break the previous Lipscomb indoor program record in the women's mile. Smeltz placed second overall in the event, trailed just seconds behind by
Colbi Borland and
Mackenzie Barnett, who finished in succession after her.
Braedon Palmer broke his second school record in two meets in the men's mile with a time of 3:57.45.
Max Hooper broke the record in Lipscomb's last meet and was the first Bison to run an indoor sub-four-minute mile with a time of 3:59.89. Palmer wasted no time in becoming the second Bison to run a sub-four mile and to overtake Hooper as the record holder in the event.
In the men's unseeded long jump,
Justin Davis led the competition with a distance of 7.06m to place first overall.
Brady Yingst also claimed first in the men's unseeded mile, finishing in 4:08.75. Yingst was followed by
