WAYNESVILLE, N.C. – Lipscomb Men's Golf competed at the JT Poston Invitational this week in Waynesville where the team finished in 12
th place with an overall score of 857 (+17).
Lipscomb's
Grant Tabar competed as an individual and had an impressive outing, finishing tied for 18
th. He finished even to par on the tournament, with his best two rounds coming in the final two rounds, shooting a 68 in each. He shot 10 birdies over his three rounds and connected on 35 pars.
The Bisons' team scoring was led by newcomer
Oakley Gee who tied for 22
nd place in the field, finishing with a 211 (+1). He was under par in the first and third rounds, with a 69 and 67, respectively but shot a 75 in the second round. Gee had nine birdies and 36 pars.
Maxi Klaus was Lipscomb's next finisher, tying for 39
th with a 215 (+5). He started hot with a 69 in the first round before shooting a 73 in each of the final two rounds with 11 birdies and 30 pars.
Minas Manias finished at (+7) with a 217, tying for 48
th. He started off with a 75 in the first round before shooting a 69 in the second round and a 73 in the third round.
Lipscomb's final two finishers were
Toby Bishop and
Rio Saigal. Bishop finished at 219 (+9) while Saigal finished right behind him at 220 (+10). Bishop improved every round, starting off with a 76 in his first 18 holes, before vastly improving with a 72 and 71 in the second and third rounds, respectively. Saigal was consistent throughout his tournament with a 74 in the first and third rounds and a 72 in the second round.
